Here's what enthusiastic visitors say
about St. Vincent's Tour of Homes & Tea -
Savannah's "Best"

“ I have been on many Savannah tours and this is by far the best!"
—Betty Weeks, Savannah, GA

“I have never been on another tour that I enjoyed as much as this one. The tea was extraordinary. I had only anticipated some cookies and drinks on the table. I was surprised at how elegant the tea was and how polite the young ladies who served were.”
—Cindy Taylor, Savannah, GA

“It’s been exquisite. My favorite house was just exquisitely detailed. The architecture, the antiques and decorations werebeautifully done. And the courtyard was outstanding.”
—Jan and John Gribb, Beaufort, SC

“I’ve been to many tours in Savannah and Charleston, but I think you have wonderful choices of houses. Two of the houses were to die for! They were perfection.”
—Mary O. Dillard, Savannah, GA

“This has been a fabulous day! We are so impressed. Opening up the Convent has been so interesting. I remember growing up in Catholic school—you couldn’t get past the front door when you needed to talk to one of the nuns. So seeing how they live is fabulous.”
—Maggie Newman, Savannah, GA

Overheard at the Tea...

“It’s been a great experience. My daughter goes to St. Vincent’s and I have never been into the chapel area in the front part of the school and it’s beautiful. I’m glad I’m here and the tea is great.”

“It’s been a beautiful day. The houses have been gorgeous that we’ve gone to. We’ve really enjoyed them and ending the tour with a tea is great.”

“This is our second year. We did it last year. We loved it last year and looked for it in the paper and every place to do it this year. And we’ve done the first five and it’s been great. Absolutely fantastic. And we’ll be looking for it next year, too. And look forward to this part, too. The tea sandwiches and that sort of thing.”

“It’s been delightful. It’s excellent. Highly commendable and well worth the time and admission. I’d recommend it to anybody.”

“I‘ve been in Savannah since 1950. I went to St. Joseph’s but I never came to this area. We’d go to the Cathedral but we didn’t know what was over here. I was from a small town.”

“I wish I had more relatives in town so I could bring them!”

“I think the docents are very knowledgeable and very gracious. And the tea is just superb.”

“It’s really interesting to see the varieties of people’s tastes. How they go from the antiques to the real modern.”

“Saw it on the internet. It’s too hard to pick just one place (as a favorite). The Lee Smith home was really unique. All of them had something really unbelievable. Either the furniture, the architecture or art. She liked the kitchens. It was really nice.”

“The tour has been terrific. Our favorite part: how about the enthusiastic young students who greet us at each home. How does that sound?”
